While perfect attendance is something we all strive for, there are times where a student is absent without any prior notice to the school or facilitator. When this happens, it's important to let your provider know that a student will not be able to attend their session.
Q: Who should a Facilitator reach out to if a student cannot attend a session or will be late?
A: Facilitators should inform their Parallel Provider as soon as possible. They are responsible for coordinating attendance and rescheduling sessions if needed.
If you do not have your provider's contact info, please email support@parallellearning.com to notify us of the absence. Include the following in your email:
- School you are reaching out from
- Provider who the session is scheduled with
- Time of the session
- Name of the student who will be absent
We will connect you with the provider to notify them of the absence and to facilitate any necessary rescheduling!
Q: What should a Facilitator do if a student is late due to a technical issue?
A: If a student is late because of a technical problem, the Facilitator should email support@parallellearning.com immediately and copy (CC) the student’s Provider on the email. This ensures both the Support Team and the Provider are informed and Parallel support can assist in resolving the issue quickly.
Remember, for any technical issue you're running into related to the Parallel Platform, we're happy to help!
Q: What should a Facilitator do if a student cannot attend a session due to a scheduled school event or field trip?
A: If the student will miss a session because of a planned school event, the Facilitator should notify the Provider at least 24 hours in advance. This allows the Providers to adjust schedules or plan make-up sessions if needed.
Similar to when a student is absent, it's best to email the provider directly. If you do not have their contact info, please email support@parallellearning.com and we'll make sure the provider is informed.
