Why Bookmark or Pin?
If you visit the same page every day, like Pathway, your email, or a district portal, you can save time by bookmarking it or pinning the tab. This is a good way to make sure that the Pathway session room is easily available to you and the student.
| Feature | What It Does | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Bookmark | Saves a link so you can find it later | Pages you visit often but don't need open all the time |
| Pinned Tab | Keeps a tab locked open on the left side of your browser | Pages you need open all day, every day |
How to Bookmark a Link
- Go to the page you want to bookmark, in this case https://telehealth.parallellearning.com/join
- Click the star icon ☆ at the right end of the address bar.
- A small popup will appear. You can change the name if you'd like, but the default is usually fine.
- Under Folder, select Bookmarks bar so the bookmark shows up right below the address bar for easy access.
- Click Done.
💡 Tip: If you don't see your Bookmarks bar below the address bar, press Ctrl + Shift + B (Windows/Chromebook) or Cmd + Shift + B (Mac) to show it.
Using a Bookmark
Once saved, your bookmark appears on the Bookmarks bar. Click it anytime to go straight to that page, no need to type the address or search for it.
How to Pin a Tab
- Open the page you want to keep pinned.
- Right-click the tab at the top of the browser (the part that shows the page name).
- Select Pin tab from the menu, as highlighted below.
The tab will shrink down to a small icon and move to the far left side of your tabs. It stays there even if you open and close other tabs.
ℹ Note: Pinned tabs reopen automatically when you close and reopen Chrome, as long as Chrome is set to Continue where you left off. To check this setting, go to chrome://settings/onStartup in your address bar.
